Australia vs Pakistan 2nd odi Live Streaming

A Pakistan win, on the other hand, would throw the race for the semis wide open. Monday's wash-out in Centurion may have allowed India to avoid a mountainous run-chase against Australia, but it also placed them in the precarious position of having to rely on other results to advance to the next round. A resounding Pakistan victory over Australia will keep alive the hopes of MS Dhoni's men, but only if India can inflict a heavy defeat on the West Indians at the Wanderers the same day.

Watch Live Cricket

Weighing heavily on the Indians' minds will be Australia's recent 3-2 victory over Pakistan in an attritional one-day series played in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. On that occasion, the superior discipline of the Australians proved too much for an out-of-practice Pakistan side although, as punters the world over are aware, form guides are seldom of use when trying to assess Younis Khan's team. That logic is all the more applicable with Pakistan likely to rest a number of first-choice players ahead of the semi-finals, clearing the way for Mohammad Asif to make his return to international cricket after a 19-month absence.

India vs West Indies Champions Trophy 2009

India need Australia to lose to Pakistan, then they need to beat West Indies, and by such a margin that their net run-rate goes over Australia's. If any of these doesn't happen, they are out.

If Pakistan's match against Australia is even as much as washed out, India can kiss their campaign goodbye. The saving grace for them is that by half time during their match they'll know what exactly they need to do - if Australia lose, that is.

A difference of 2.08 in India and Australia's net run-rates looks huge on paper, but since it is based on the results of one match each it is not impossible to wipe out. It will be mighty difficult, though. Pakistan and Australia will make for a tight contest either way, so even if Australia lose India will need a huge win over West Indies. A perfect day is difficult to define, but India fans will know what it is if their team makes it to the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy.

West Indies have been no pushovers in this tournament, giving Pakistan and Australia a scare. They would love nothing better than to spoil a party on their way out. It won't be a surprise if they even wish for Australia to lose to Pakistan, so that they have a chance to actively contribute in sending a team out. September 30 will be one complex day.

England vs New Zealand Champions Trophy 2009

Watch England vs New Zealand Champions Trophy 2009 Live Streaming online. It is New Zealand's turn to do or die. A victory will take them through to the semi-finals, but a defeat will almost certainly see them heading home. England, though, can already think about the knockout stage after their slick performance against South Africa. This tournament continues to confound, and what excitement that has brought.

Daniel Vettori's team often lift themselves at global events and if they don't make the semi-finals it will be something of a surprise - they are almost always there. However, their hopes have taken a blow with Jesse Ryder ruled out of the tournament after the injury he picked up during his destructive 58-ball 74 against Sri Lanka and his departure leaves a hole in the top order. But Brendon McCullum and Martin Guptill have shown good form and it is up to them to take the strain. The captain, too, is leading from the front and his bowling spell was crucial to defeating Sri Lanka.

England: (probable) 1 Andrew Strauss (capt), 2 Joe Denly, 3 Owais Shah, 4 Paul Collingwood, 5 Eoin Morgan (wk), 6 Ravi Boapra 7 Luke Wright, 8 Stuart Broad, 9 Graeme Swann, 10 James Anderson, 11 Graham Onions.

New Zealand: (probable) 1 Brendon McCullum, 2 Aaron Redmond, 3 Martin Guptill, 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Grant Elliott, 6 Neil Broom, 7 Daniel Vettori (capt), 8 James Franklin, 9 Kyle Mills, 10 Shane Bond, 11 Ian Butler.

India vs Australia Champions Trophy Live Streaming Score

Watch India vs Australia Champions Trophy 2009 Live Streaming score updates online for free.

if Australia beat India, it will be Pakistan and Australia who progress. The group will be done and dusted with two games to go. Things become more complex if India win. They will be in prime position due to their remaining game against a weakened West Indies and Australia's fixture against an unbeaten Pakistan. However, should India and Australia either both win or both lose their last group game, net run-rate will be required to determine the semi-finalists.

MS Dhoni said he felt three bowlers short at times, such was the ease with which runs were scored in the middle of Pakistan's innings, and India are certain to play five specialist bowlers on Monday. Harbhajan Singh did not bowl well against Pakistan but he is a bogey player for Australia and regularly lifts against them. The other bowling options in India's squad are Praveen Kumar and the legspinner Amit Mishra, who is a strong contender. Praveen could edge in ahead of RP Singh, who took 1 for 59 in nine overs against Pakistan

India have the advantage of having just played in Centurion, where the conditions are different to the Wanderers. The surface is much slower and provides more assistance to the spinners. Runs are available if the bowlers fail to adjust and Australia will need to sharpen their efforts after struggling to run through West Indies on a cracking and helpful Johannesburg pitch. There is also a strong chance of showers in the evening, so the teams should bear that in mind at the toss.

Australia (possible): 1 Shane Watson, 2 Tim Paine (wk), 3 Ricky Ponting (capt), 4 Michael Hussey, 5 Callum Ferguson/Michael Clarke, 6 Cameron White, 7 James Hopes, 8 Mitchell Johnson, 9 Brett Lee, 10 Nathan Hauritz, 11 Peter Siddle.

India (possible): 1 Gautam Gambhir, 2 Sachin Tendulkar, 3 Rahul Dravid, 4 Virat Kohli, 5 MS Dhoni (capt/wk), 6 Suresh Raina, 7 Yusuf Pathan/Amit Mishra, 8 Harbhajan Singh, 9 RP Singh/Praveen Kumar, 10, Ishant Sharma, 11 Ashish Nehra.

South Africa vs England Champions trophy Streaming

England are in the rare position where changes aren't required. They have a balanced attack, with Graeme Swann to complement the four quicks, and Paul Collingwood is a more than handy operator. Collingwood's return to form has a huge impact on England's one-day unit, but Strauss could do with better control from Stuart Broad and Luke Wright.

South Africa know their best one-day team and generally stick with it. Herschelle Gibbs has been passed fit for selection and should slot back in alongside Smith. How England combat the 20 overs of spin from Johan Botha and Roelof van der Merwe will be vital, while Dale Steyn will want to lay some early makers for battles ahead.

Sri Lanka will be confident of achieving a win after the way they beat New Zealand at home recently. The loss to England was disappointing for the way their top order collapsed, but Kumar Sangakkara took positives from the way a couple batsmen played and Ajantha Mendis bowled on an unresponsive track for spin.

India vs Pakistan Champions Trophy 2009 Live Streaming

Watch India vs Pakistan Champions Trophy 2009 Live Streaming.India and Pakistan will not be playing on an island. India-Pakistan matches are usually separate events within the main event, oblivious to the larger picture of the tournament, but this game doesn't seem to be the usual matter of life and death. For once, this match, though the first big clash of the Champions Trophy in terms of traditional rivals coming face to face, is more about the cricket.

What's helped is the tight draw in the tournament format. Pakistan, who have been more vocal in setting up the match (Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul and Younis Khan have been quoted on how badly they want to beat India), will know only net run-rate can keep them out of semi-finals if they win this match. India, blighted by injuries to Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan, have a year and a half of good work done in ODIs to defend. A loss in their opening match will leave them needing to beat Australia and possibly run-rate calculations to go their way.

Watch out for...
Pakistan bowlers v Indian batsmen: As has so often been the case, this is the deciding mini contest. Pakistan have three different kinds of fast bowlers, and two different kinds of spinners, who will need a perfect show from opposition batsmen, if they are to be outdone.

Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi Last checked they had to be physically separated from a mid-pitch altercation, in Kanpur. Since then Afridi has become a different man, so mature he seems almost possessed. Will he able to keep his calm when he comes to bowl to Gambhir? Will Gambhir survive for that long?

Sachin Tendulkar and Mohammad Aamer Tendulkar knows all about pressure, playing Pakistan, and playing Pakistan in pressure games. Will he try to bully and unsettle a 17-year-old opening the bowling against him?

Sri Lanka vs England ICC Champions Trophy 2009 Live Streaming

England prepared to face the music in a one-day competition that has humiliation stamped all over it. True, they arrive in the country boasting a winning streak of one match, after denying Australia a 7-0 whitewash in the final ODI of the English summer on Sunday, but even in that irrelevant face-saver, they still shipped six wickets chasing 177.

In the absence of Kevin Pietersen (who has scored two of England's three ODI hundreds since January 2008 - a tally that even Scotland has surpassed) and latterly Andrew Flintoff and even Luke Wright, England lack batsmen who can break the shackles, and raise the tempo. Strauss has been batting like a dream all summer, but even at his most imperious, he is still a man for whom an 80.00 strike-rate is a pacey tempo - hence his unfortunate habit during the Australia ODIs of getting out when well set, usually while attempting a reverse-sweep or similar, shots that his colleagues ought to have been producing while he continued to anchor the innings.

England (possible): 1 Andrew Strauss (capt), 2 Joe Denly, 3 Owais Shah, 4 Paul Collingwood, 5 Matt Prior (wk), 6 Eoin Morgan, 7 Stuart Broad, 8 Graeme Swann, 9 Tim Bresnan, 10 Ryan Sidebottom, 11 James Anderson.

Sri Lanka (probable) 1 Sanath Jayasuriya, 2 Tillakaratne Dilshan, 3 Kumar Sangakkara (capt/wk), 4 Mahela Jayawardene, 5 Thilina Kandamby, 6 Thilan Samaraweera, 7 Angelo Mathews, 8 Nuwan Kulasekara, 9 Muttiah Muralitharan, 10 Lasith Malinga, 11 Ajantha Mendis.

Pitch and conditions

It's early in the season on the Highveld, so who knows what to expect? So far, there has been evidence of helpful bowling conditions, unsurprisingly, and there has been plenty of rain in the high-altitude air as well.

South Africa vs New Zealand ICC Champions Trophy 2009 Live Streaming

South Africa, therefore, will be giving Thursday's match in Centurion must-win status. They gambled in the opening game by picking 20-year-old Wayne Parnell ahead of Makhaya Ntini, and by choosing to field first despite naming two specialist spinners in their XI. Graeme Smith, though, said after the 55-run defeat that he wouldn't have done anything differently. South Africa came into the tournament with no international 50-over match-practice since April and were found wanting. They cannot afford to be found wanting tomorrow.

Their opponents don't possess the unorthodox and unique talents of the Sri Lankans but New Zealand make up for that with discipline, doggedness and sheer hard work. Rarely have they failed to make it past the first round of an ICC competition. Daniel Vettori's team, though, has had a poor run in ODIs this year, losing eight games and winning only five. Their last two defeats were heavy ones to India and Sri Lanka during the Compaq Cup and they've had mixed results in the two warm-up matches in South Africa as well: they lost the first one to the Warriors but bounced back to beat India, one of the tournament favourites, convincingly in the second.

New Zealand are a team without stars and rely on collective contribution from their batsmen to achieve a challenging total. Jesse Ryder, Ross Taylor, Martin Guptill and Neil Broom have all scored half-centuries in the warm-ups but Brendon McCullum has failed. Their chances of beating South Africa will hinge on a few players coming good rather than one batsman making a stellar contribution.

Gambhir had a great 2008 and has been nominated for ICC awards in two categories - Cricketer of the Year and Test Player of the Year. "It was a fabulous year. I never thought it would go the way it did and that I would be up for so many awards, including the Arjuna Award. How things change and so quickly." From January 2008 Gambhir averaged 44.31 from 41 ODIs, scoring four centuries and nine half-centuries.

Apart from Sehwag's absence, offspinner Harbhajan Singh felt India were missing a bowling allrounder like Shaun Pollock. Harbhajan also hoped to score his maiden one-day century during the tournament. "In a function in Mumbai recently, Sunil Gavaskar wanted to know when I would hit my first hundred. Coming from him it was a huge thing.

India will play their only warm-up ahead of the Champions Trophy on Sunday against New Zealand in Potchefstroom before their first game next Saturday against Pakistan at Centurion.

South Africa vs West Indies Warm up Match

South Africa haven't won an ICC trophy since the Champions Trophy in 1998 despite being among the top one-day sides over the past decade. Their captain Graeme Smith is desperate to shed the 'chokers' tag that hangs around the team and sees next week's Champions Trophy as a chance for the world's No. 1 ODI side to answer the doubters.

"Every time we lose an important game the word 'chokers' is thrown around," Smith said. "During the last couple of years we have been on an upward curve and the team will improve and grow stronger."

South Africa have won all their ODI series over the past two years barring the campaign in England in 2008. Their run has included impressive home-and-away wins over Australia, who were deposed from the top spot in the rankings.

Smith said he was aware being rated the best side in the world added to the pressure on South Africa. "Every sportsman knows that staying at the top is a lot harder than getting there," he said. "Instead of aiming for Australia, as they have for the past decade and a half, the rest of the world will be looking to take us down."

One of the players pivotal to South Africa's dominant one-day performances is batsman AB de Villiers, who said the Champions Trophy was a great stage to showcase his team's capabilities. "It is true we have come short a few times, but there are many players eager to improve," he said. "We believe we are the best team in the world and now have the ideal opportunity to prove it."

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan Warm-Up Match

The favourites include the world's top three ODI sides - South Africa, India and defending champions Australia.

However, Sangakkara said form would not be an issue when the teams took to the field. "Everyone in our team is confident, but our recent wins are not going to count for anything," he said. "Everyone here is a professional unit and whether they have played recently or not won't matter because you are always in training and up to the challenge of playing. It is nice to have had a bit of cricket, but the only advantage of that is that we have been competing under pressure."

Sri Lanka, who finished runners-up at the World Twenty20 in June this year, are currently ranked fifth in ODIs, and with the good mix of fast bowlers and spinners in the squad, Sangakkara was optimistic about their chances in the tournament. "Fast bowling is now one of our main strengths," he said. "We now have bowlers who can bowl at more than 140 km/h and they have the accuracy and firepower. Coupled with our spinners, Ajantha Mendis and Muttiah Muralitharan, it's an exciting time for Sri Lankan cricket."

Sri Lanka will face hosts South Africa, England and New Zealand in Group B of the tournament. Their first match, also the tournament opener, will be against South Africa in Centurion on September 22.

Watch India vs Sri Lanka Live Streaming, Compaq Cup Final 2009, Live Online from Colombo. Match Start time 9:30 GMT.

Karthik may continue to open the innings in Gambhir's absence, given Dhoni's reluctance to send Kohli in early. Kohli is not a specialist opener, though he filled the role in five ODIs in Sri Lanka last summer. He was impressive in handling Murali during this year's IPL, so should present a credible case. There are a couple of other possibilities for India; after Mathews nipped out six with his canny seamers under lights, there's an outside chance that the allrounder Abhishek Nayar gets a game. That would mean India have to drop Yusuf Pathan or one of the three fast bowlers (probably RP Singh, who had a poor last game). Praveen Kumar is another option.

Sri Lanka: (probable) 1 Sanath Jayasuriya, 2 Tillakaratne Dilshan, 3 Kumar Sangakkara (capt & wk), 4 Mahela Jayawardene, 5 Chamara Kapugedera/Thilan Samaraweera, 6 Thilina Kandamby, 7 Angelo Mathews, 8 Thilan Thushara, 9 Nuwan Kulasekara, 10 Muttiah Muralitharan, 11 Lasith Malinga.

India: (probable) 1 Dinesh Karthik/Virat Kohli, 2 Sachin Tendulkar, 3 Rahul Dravid, 4 Yuvraj Singh, 5 MS Dhoni (capt & wk), 6 Suresh Raina, 7 Yusuf Pathan/Abhishek Nayar, 8 Harbhajan Singh, 9 RP Singh/Praveen Kumar, 10 Ishant Sharma, 11 Ashish Nehra.

India seems to have started their Campaigne well at the compaq cup , while i was writing this post New Zealand were all out for a paltry 155 runs , against the Fast and spin combination of the Indian Bowlers.

India after a long will miss both their regular openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Ghambir who will not play the compaq cup due to injuries.

With two back to back matches in two days , India will look to continue the momentum and would want to win against the hosts Srilanka and enter the finals which will be played on tuesday.

Gautam Gambhir will miss the Compaq Cup after straining a groin muscle, the Indian board announced on Thursday. He has been advised 10 days' rest, and is returning from Sri Lanka ahead of the tri-series.

The selectors will announce his replacement later in the day, the BCCI statement said, and he will join the squad on Friday, the day India play their first game of the tournament.

Two of the possible contenders for Gambhir's slot, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, are at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore, undergoing rehabilitation for shoulder injuries. M Vijay is another possible replacement. Gambhir is expected to report at the NCA for assessment and rehabilitation.

Gambhir's injury means India will be without two of their three established openers in Sri Lanka: Virender Sehwag is already out with shoulder injury and will miss the Champions Trophy too. Gambhir's replacement notwithstanding, Dinesh Karthik, who opened in the ODIs in the West Indies in the absence of Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar, is in the squad and likely to make the starting XI.

India will desperately want Gambhir back in time for the Champions Trophy, where they play their first match on September 26, against Pakistan in Centurion. They would ideally want at least a week's acclimatisation in South Africa, which means there will be a degree of risk involved should India take Gambhir to the Champions Trophy. It will be a tricky decision to make, because one such choice recently went wrong. Sehwag, who was injured but hoping to recover in time when the squad for World Twenty20 was announced, was taken along to England, but is yet to recover from his shoulder injury.

And for that trend to be reversed, it seems inconceivable that Adil Rashid won't be drafted back into the side after his excellent all-round display in the first match at The Oval (31 from 23 and an economical spell with the ball). But it's with the bat that England need to shine, and they are again without the services of Stuart Broad (neck strain) and Joe Denly whose left knee was hacked in a football warm-up prior to the series.

Murali's fitness will be evaluated later this evening and tomorrow morning before the game and Sri Lanka are hopeful he will be ready. Sri Lanka may hand young left-handed batsman Gihan Rupasinghe a debut, meaning Angelo Mathews may drop down a spot. Thilan Thushara will come back into the side after missing the Twenty20s and forms a potent pace attack along with Kulasekara and Lasith Malinga

New Zealand did little wrong in the Twenty20s. Their response to Dilshan's onslaught in game one was calm and their batting and bowling more than efficient during the series clincher. Their effective handling of Ajantha Mendis - who caused nightmares at Trent Bridge this summer - was another reason behind their victory over Sri Lanka.
